we're still here

despite what it might look like, we're still here! mom has been super busy lately. she and paw have been working on something they call a gabion wall for the yard. s'posed to help when we have floods. we don't know, we're just boxers.

i'm enjoying my new dental treats. brother tries to eat them but mom won't let him. so he gets his special treats and i get mine! mom has started taking brother for bike adventures as part of his "continuing education". he has to stay on leash though. mom says it's for his safety, but i think it's so he can pull her along and she doesn't have to pedal. i would tell brother, but what's the fun in that!

and of course it's getting colder out so you know what that means....DIBS ON COVERS!!!

well, sister had to go in for mouth surgey today so she gave me permission to post this. i just twittered to inform everyone that she is out of surgery. she had surgery cuz she has Gingival hyperplasia. it's a genetic condition where the gum line grows over the teeth. turns out it's common in boxers. but not me cuz i eat rocks! i thought the pics that i googled were kinda gross so i'm not gonna post them here. you can google them yourself. she also had to have 2 premolars removed too (miss T can explain all that). guess she needs to eat more rocks! mom is gonna pick her up after work today. can't wait to see her shiny new smile!

brother and i decided to take ma and paw camping as a late anniversary gift to them. we had a blast! ma and paw drove us in our favorite john boat up the river to our own private island. we loved the drive up there and had a blast staying the night.

blasts from the past

as we're approaching our birthdays in a couple weeks (Sept 22 for those still needing to buy a gift), mom wanted to post some oldies but goodies.
Kobe
mom has mentioned several times that we are the "chance" boxers. a couple years after i picked ma and pa out, pa was kayaking out in front of the house stalking a wake board boat. when the people stopped and they started chatting, they saw me and mentioned they had a boxer too. turns out, by chance, it was from the same litter. so they had my sister Kobe.

it's been years since i've seen her and i sure hope she's doing okay. we had some good times together.

not everyone is aware of how brother and i came to be together. see, at first it was just me. dad picked me out of the litter and has spoiled me ever since. but brother came to us by, you guessed it, chance. mom first heard about him from my namesake, and our favorite hooman, Korby. seems Kroby's friend owned him and couldn't keep him. he asked Korby if he knew anyone that would be interested in taking in a boxer. well, what do you know? just so happens.... mom met brother Dec 2004 and May 2005 he came to live with us permanently. and he's been ma's little girl ever since!

dog whisperer

we spent last night visiting Max (Theresa & Norm's boxer). seems Max is a bit excitable and over affectionate (aka territorial). so mom was asked if she could come down and help out. she knew the perfect person for the job was me. so i met with Max and helped show him how a good boxer behaves. i also got to play with Mya (JT & Jenny's chocolate lab). BOY IS SHE A BLAST!!! seems Mya has her own set of issues too. Max's overexcited personality has made Mya a bit of a wall flower. so i helped her with girl power. in the end, we all had a wonderful time. unfortunately brother was not able to go with us. mom thought it best to introduce us one at a time. so next play date will include Butters! and hopefully some pics!

since we seem to be the unofficial boxer rescue around here, i have another request for placement. seems the breeder that mom got us from has contacted her for a 6 month old Male, Neutered and Ears Cropped. he's been to Obedience class too! the family is moving and can't take him with them. she's trying to get a photo now so hopefully she'll have something to post. if you're interested comment here, or email mom if you have her email. if you're not interested for yourself, maybe you can find someone who is.
